Rockies Rollin’
The games became tighter, and the Rockies didn’t blink.
After an opening 6-0 win over Titans Hockey Union, Calgary faced Northstars Hockey Academy twice and skated away with a pair of one-goal victories.
Reid Wetsch pitched a shutout, and Calder Lalonde had a three-point game. From there, Zander Schultz and Carter Lalonde scored overtime winners
The perfect showcase has the Rockies just two points back of their neighbours from Bow Valley HC.
15U South Sask HC
On A Mission
After losing in the Bauer Winter Championships final, South Sask HC was firing offensively.
Defeating both Edmonton area clubs, THU and HCE, 9-2 and 9-1, with Nixon Adrian registering six points in the two games.
Despite scoring nine goals, Oliver Wickett was relied on in net as he faced 40 shots and stopped 42 against the Titans Hockey Union and kicked out 30 of 31 vs HC Edmonton.
17U Langley HA
Rolling On
The Bauer Winter Champions kept it rolling to start 2026.
Reid Birtch led the way with a third-period, natural hat-trick to break open a 2-2 game with Okanagan HC. It’s his first hat-trick this year and second three-point game; he also added a helper.
Langley followed up the 6-2 win with a 7-3 victory over Coquitlam HC, in a Bauer Winter Championships rematch, where Zachary Smith set up three goals.
18U Coquitlam HC
Penninga Perfect
30 shots up, 30 saves down for goaltender Rhys Penninga, who helped Coquitlam to a 2-1 record.
He was busiest in the second period with 17 saves. It was his second shutout of the season, and while he was stopping pucks, his mates were firing them, with 48 pucks on net.
Coquitlam went 2-1 on the weekend after a one-goal victory over Power-Ranked Island HC. Three different goal scorers chipped in for the Coquitlam win.
