Junior Prospects Hockey League

JPHL 4 for SZN 4 February 2nd

Tuesday, February 3, 2026

JPHL 4 for SZN4 February 2nd

15U HC Edmonton

Huff and Puff

It was a big day for Brandon Huff, who blew away the Rockies like they were a straw house.

Huff started the scoring, added another in the third period and along the way set up three more goals.

Two goals and three helpers gave Huff a career-high, and the fifth time he has notched multiple goals. He has eight points in his last three games.

The victory moves HC Edmonton to within two points of first place in the Prairies conference.

17U Victoria Hockey Academy

Tight Victory

It was more like a ping-pong match than a hockey game, with so much back and forth between Victoria HA and Island HC.

Jacob Heinonen opened the scoring for Victoria in the first period, but they didn’t lead again until the third period, when Heinonen lit the lamp again, this time as the game-winning goal.

Victoria outlasted Island 6-5 in a game that combined for 75 shots, pulling within one point of their rivals for third place in the Pacific Conference and just two points shy of second place.

Four different Victoria skaters notched two points.

18U Calgary Rockies

Last Minute Hero

Thanks to some late-game heroics from Nolan Van Waes, the Rockies slipped past Bow Valley 3-2 in comeback fashion.

The teams traded goals in the second and third periods, leaving them tied at 2.

Van Waes went end-to-end with 25 seconds remaining to break a 2-2 tie spectacularly.

It’s the first Game Winning Goal for Van Waes, and the victory gives Calgary 12 victories on the season, third most in the Prairies conference.

18U Lethbridge United

Rivalry Sweep

A big weekend sweep over rival Kootenay HA has pushed the U into third place in the Prairies Conference.

Victories of 4-3 and 3-1 snapped a five-game losing streak and now have them two points up on Calgary.

In a home-and-home series, Lethbridge took the first game at home, with a Colin Fancy third-period game-winning goal. It capped off a three-point game for Fancy.

The back half of the series saw Lethbridge pull ahead in the third period, thanks to Tyce Perkins, to skate away 3-1.
